The Kestrel variety has to be one of the greatest overall, producing large, show winning potatoes with wonderfully smooth, white skins. These potatoes are best when roasted and can be harvested during the summer months.
- Moist, fertile & well drained soil
- Plant in March - May, Harvest period June - July
- Chit your potatoes before you plant. Chitting allows the seed potato to produce little sprouts before they're planted in the ground. This gives them a great head start. The easiest way to chit seed potatoes is by placing them in a egg carton, positioned in a cool frost free location. Once the little shoots are about 3cm long, they're ready for planting.
